1. Agreement to Terms & Scope of Services
By scheduling service via telephone, dispatch form, or signed work order with HVAC Antelope, you agree to be bound by the terms outlined in this Agreement. Our services encompass residential and light-commercial air conditioning repair, gas furnace servicing, heat pump conversion, ductwork sealing/replacement, and whole-home air filtration in Antelope, CA and neighboring jurisdictions.
2. Phone Estimates vs. Binding Written Quotes
Price ranges provided by our phone dispatch team represent typical historical cost windows based on customer-reported symptoms (e.g. humming condenser, warm vents, short cycling). Because mechanical failures often stem from multiple interlinked components (such as an electrical short caused by a grounded fan motor), phone ranges are non-binding estimates. Exact binding pricing is presented on site in writing after physical testing.
3. Diagnostic Inspections & Technician Access
Diagnostic service calls carry a standard service diagnostic fee disclosed during intake. The diagnostic fee covers the technician’s travel, comprehensive electrical metering, manifold pressure testing, temperature differential measurements, and visual inspection. If you authorize the recommended repair during the same visit, the diagnostic fee may be credited or bundled in accordance with our specific service package terms.
4. California CSLB C-20 Mechanical Licensing
All heating and cooling services are performed directly by HVAC Antelope as a CSLB C-20 Licensed, bonded, and insured Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor. All work complies with the California Mechanical Code, California Building Standards Code (Title 24), and local municipal ordinances.
5. Municipal Permitting, Title 24 & HERS Verification
California law mandates that mechanical building permits be obtained for all full air conditioner, furnace, and heat pump system change-outs. HVAC Antelope coordinates permit filings with the appropriate local jurisdiction (Sacramento County Building Department or City of Roseville Building Division). All qualifying replacements undergo mandatory third-party HERS (Home Energy Rating System) testing for duct leakage, airflow, and refrigerant verification prior to final municipal sign-off.
6. Customer Site Responsibilities & Safety
To ensure safety and efficient service execution, customer agrees to:
- Provide clear, unobstructed access to outdoor condensing units, garage air handlers, attic crawlspaces, and electrical disconnect panels.
- Restrain and secure household pets away from technician work paths, equipment staging areas, and service vehicles.
- Ensure an adult authorized representative (aged 18 or older) is present throughout the diagnostic visit to approve written authorizations.
- Ensure active utility power and water supply are available on site for diagnostic testing.
7. Payment Terms, Invoicing & Mechanics Lien Notice
Payment for diagnostic visits and authorized repairs is due immediately upon completion of service. For complete HVAC system replacements and major equipment installations, payment milestones (such as an equipment deposit and final completion payment) will be specified on your written installation contract. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and bank checks.
8. Manufacturer Warranties vs. Workmanship Guarantees
New HVAC equipment (compressors, coils, heat exchangers, and air handlers) carries manufacturer warranties ranging typically from 5 to 10 years upon timely registration. Workmanship guarantees cover installation craftsmanship for the duration specified in your written agreement. Manufacturer warranties do not cover damage resulting from lack of routine filter maintenance, power surges, pest infestations, or uncertified third-party tampering.
9. Refrigerant & Environmental Regulations (EPA & CARB)
All refrigerant recovery, testing, and charging operations comply with Section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act and California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations. Virgin R-410A, R-454B, or R-32 refrigerant is handled using certified recovery equipment. California regulations prohibit the venting of fluorocarbon refrigerants into the atmosphere; suspected system leaks must be properly located and repaired before recharging.
10. Limitations of Liability & Dispute Resolution
HVAC Antelope shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from pre-existing ductwork deterioration, structural framing rot, unpermitted prior homeowner wiring, or delays caused by extreme weather events, supply chain shortages, or utility inspection schedules. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be resolved through good-faith mediation under the jurisdiction of the Sacramento County Superior Court, State of California.
